Our Commitment to Safety

At Gardner Hive Athletics, our dedication to the well-being of our athletes, coaches, and community is woven into the very fabric of our mission. We believe that a safe environment is the foundation upon which dreams are built and potential is unlocked.

Your Role in the Hive

Safety is a team sport. We ask all parents, athletes, and partners to remain vigilant, respect facility guidelines, and report any potential hazards immediately. By making safety a shared responsibility, we ensure that every moment on the field remains focused on growth, teamwork, and the joy of the game.

Safety first mentality

To ensure a safe, positive, and competitive environment for all participants, coaches, and families, Gardner Hive Athletics enforces the following rules and regulations. Everyone participating in our 4-week technical clinics, Sunday pick-up games, or monthly memberships must adhere to these policies.

Failure to abide by these rules and regulations will result in disciplinary action under a "three-strike" framework

Enforcement of Rules

  • First Offense: Verbal warning to the player and notification to the parent/guardian.
  • Second Offense: Suspension from the current session or upcoming game without a refund.
  • Third Offense: Permanent expulsion from Gardner Hive Athletics programs.

Player Expectations

  • Respect Everyone: Treat all players, coaches, referees, and parents with respect. Taunting, trash-talking, bullying, or foul language will not be tolerated.
  • Sportsmanship First: Play hard but play fair. Celebrate team success and support your teammates through mistakes.
  • Focus and Discipline: Listen to instructors during technical blocks and clinics. Disruptive behavior takes away development time from the group.

Parent and Spectator Guidelines

  • Positive Reinforcement: Cheer for all players on the court or field. Let the coaches coach and the players play.
  • Respect Official Decisions: Side-line refereeing or confronting coaches/officials during or after sessions is strictly prohibited.
  • Punctuality: Ensure players arrive 10–15 minutes before their scheduled clinic or pick-up game to allow for warm-ups and check-ins.

Gear and Uniforms

  • Proper Footwear: Non-marking athletic shoes are mandatory for all indoor gym sessions. Cleats are restricted to outdoor turf/grass fields.
  • Safety Equipment: Shin guards are required for soccer clinics. Jewelry of any kind must be removed before play.
  • Hydration: Every player must bring their own clearly labeled water bottle to every session. Sharing water bottles is discouraged.

Technical Clinics & pick-up games

  • Registration: All participants must be registered through our official portal prior to attending.
  •  Payment: Payment must be completed online or confirmed at the check-in desk before taking the floor.
  • No-Show Policy: Because clinic spots are limited to maintain quality coaching ratios, please notify staff at least 24 hours in advance if a player will miss a session.

Injury and Emergency Protocols

  • Reporting: Any injury—no matter how minor—must be reported immediately to the head coach or on-site staff.
  • First Aid: Basic first aid kits are maintained on-site. In the event of a serious injury, staff will immediately contact emergency services and the designated emergency contact.
  • Concussion Policy: If a player sustains a hit to the head or exhibits signs of a concussion, they will be removed from play immediately and cannot return without written medical clearance.

Facilities and Property

  • Cleanliness: Clean up after yourself. All trash, tape, and empty bottles must be disposed of in proper receptacles before leaving.
  • Boundaries: Players and spectators must remain in the designated athletic zones. Wandering into unauthorized areas of the host facility is strictly forbidden.
  • Damages: Vandalism or willful destruction of facility property or club equipment will result in immediate expulsion from the program and financial liability for damages.
